Program Overview

The B.E in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) at Cauvery College of Engineering equips students with the skills to harness the power of data in a data-driven world. This program combines computer science fundamentals with specialized training in data analytics, big data, and statistical modeling. Aligned with VTU guidelines and NEP 2020, our curriculum emphasizes practical learning through industry partnerships, ensuring students can analyze, interpret, and leverage data to solve complex problems across sectors like finance, healthcare, and e-commerce.

Program Highlights

  • Training in tools like Python, R, Hadoop, and Tableau for data analysis.
  • Dedicated Data Science lab with access to big data platforms and cloud computing resources.
  • Focus on real-world applications like predictive analytics and business intelligence.

60 Seats

Candidates must have passed the PUC/10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a Technical Vocational subject. A minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST & OBC candidates) in the above subjects combined is required, from a board recognized by the State Government, Central Government, Union Territories, or an equivalent qualification. Admissions are through KCET, COMEDK UGET, or JEE Main.

Internships

Through Internships, students gain real-world experience in data science, working with organizations on projects involving data visualization, predictive modeling, or business analytics. Our partnerships with leading companies provide opportunities to intern at tech firms, research labs, or government bodies, helping students build a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making.

Projects

Students undertake coursework projects across semesters focusing on data analysis, visualization, and machine learning applications, such as developing recommendation systems or analyzing market trends. The final-year Major Project involves advanced data science challenges, like big data processing or real-time analytics, often in collaboration with industry to ensure practical relevance.

Career Prospects

Graduates can pursue roles such as Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Developer, or Big Data Engineer in companies like Accenture, Deloitte, and Flipkart. The program also opens doors to research and higher studies in data science and analytics.
